Family Residence overlooking Plettenberg Bay

Architects from SAOTA were given the task of creating a family holiday home on which warm rays fall in sunny South Africa. The idea of a family was a simple but elegant house with a cozy atmosphere for relaxation, which the architects really did! Thus, a stylish concrete building called Beachyhead was created, set above Plettenberg Bay and overlooking the surrounding mountains. A distinctive feature of Beachyhead is the wooden texture, while the southern part of the building is higher and appears to be sliced off from the northern part in a sculptural way. The residence is designed as a box that frames the natural surroundings with its structure and wood, protecting the facade from strong sunlight. The interior is divided into private sectors: 5 bedrooms are located on the ground floor, each with sliding wooden window blinds, protecting from the morning sun, and one master bedroom is set in the upper part with breathtaking views. The interior is in soft, unified colors, with an open-plan kitchen and living room with a majestic fireplace and panoramic views. This beautiful residence with an elegant modern style gives a feeling of homely atmosphere, where the family awaits promising views, sunlight and a pleasant ocean breeze. Photos below!
